Have you ever experienced whiffing a familiar smell and suddenly remembering memories of a distant past, like the smell of freshly cut grass in the neighbourhood you grew up in, or the aroma of chocolate chip cookies your mom used to bake for your afternoon snack when you were little?
Have you ever experienced whiffing a familiar smell and suddenly remembering memories of a distant past, like the smell of freshly cut grass in the neighbourhood you grew up in, or the aroma of chocolate chip cookies your mom used to bake for your afternoon snack when you were little?
It’s lost to some people, that innate ability of our sense of smell to trigger distant memories with a simple whiff. But if you actually study it more carefully, you will realise that the portion of our brain that is linked to our sense of smell is actually closely related to that section that stores our feelings and memory.
Basically, when we inhale odour molecules present in the air, they are dissolved in the mucus and are detected by cells called olfactory receptor neurons. The neurons send information to the brain, where they are stored, near the area where the brain stores our memories and feelings as well.
That is why we are oft to associate feelings and memories with the things we smell. We are programmed to use our sense of smell as a mechanism for detecting danger and finding food during our primitive years. However, over time, we have developed the ability to create pleasant odours through the composition of aromatic compounds – fragrances.
At Ajmal, we don’t just mix fragrances. We strive to create memories through unique aromatic experiences. We create concoctions by carefully fusing together aroma molecules with essential oils to form a compound that producing a pleasant fragrance.
Driven by passion, we combine science and art by creating fragrances inspired by experiences, nature, art, and history. To know more about our fragrances, head on over to http://www.ajmalperfume.com/
